About

I grew up in Dorset, where I learned to Sail, Windsurf, Kayak and Kite Surf. however a distinct lack of hills meant I never really knew mountain bikes could be used for anything other than cycling along old railway tracks. Until I moved to Scotland….

I have always loved the adrenaline aspect of sports, enjoying snowboarding, canyoning, bungee jumping and anything else that gets the heart racing. I trained in Muay Thai for three years, and competitively ran a number of obstacle courses, like ‘Spartan’, and ‘Tough Mudder’, including competing in season 1 of ITV’s Ninja Warrior UK. But with mountain biking I found a sport I could do every day of the year, and never get bored.

My first experience of trail riding was in 2013, being thrown in the deep end on a little hire bike, riding the red grade ‘Spooky Wood’ trail at Glentress, and I have been hooked ever since that moment. My first race was a single day enduro at Fort William in 2014. I then raced a handful of grass root events for a couple of years before joining the Progression Bikes Race team at the beginning of 2016.

At the end of 2018 I moved to New Zealand to try and get a better work life balance, which just meant I wanted more bike time. The amazing trails, and being surrounded by high level of riding talent down here has resulted is a massive jump in my skills.
